Frequently Asked Questions

Where areas do you serve?

Northeast Georgia Food Pantry is a mobile food pantry serving rural communities through monthly pop-up pantry events. Our core service areas include:

Cornelia, Demorest, Mt. Airy, Toccoa, Lavonia, Martin, and nearby towns in Northeast Georgia.

We currently do not operate in the Atlanta area or other regions outside our coverage zone. As community support grows, we hope to expand our reach in the future.

How many food boxes can I receive?

Each household may receive one food box per pop-up event.

While we understand that each family’s situation is unique, this allows us to support as many neighbors as possible with the resources we have. Your understanding helps us bring relief to more families across Northeast Georgia.

What's included in a pantry box?

Each box includes 13–15 pounds of shelf-stable food designed to feed an average household for 2–3 days. Items vary, but typically include:

  • Canned proteins (chicken, tuna, chili, stew)

  • Vegetables and fruit (canned or dried)

  • Pasta, rice, or beans

  • Breakfast items (cereal, oatmeal)

  • Snacks or box meals

We also partner with local grocery stores to include bonus items like bread or baked goods when available.

These food boxes are built to stretch grocery budgets and provide support.

Do you deliver food?

No — we are not a delivery service. Northeast Georgia Food Pantry operates as a mobile, pop-up food pantry. We bring food directly into neighborhoods where access to traditional food banks is limited — especially in rural towns like Toccoa, Cornelia, and Lavonia.

You can find us at churches, community centers, and local parking lots in towns we serve. Follow us on social media for updates.

How do I find out where you'll be next?

We announce all upcoming pantry pop-ups and food drive events on:

  • Our website Events

  • Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok

  • Local bulletin boards and partner locations

We recommend following us and turning on notifications to stay up to date on food assistance in Toccoa, Cornelia, Lavonia, and beyond.

Can I donate food as an individual?

Yes! We welcome individual in-kind food donations.

To help us make the best use of our volunteers' time and gas, we ask that food donations be at least 2 full bags or boxes of non-perishable items. We may also coordinate drop-offs or pickups in our core service areas.

Check out how to Host a Food Drive  for tips on collecting shelf-stable items.

Who runs Northeast Georgia Food Pantry?

Our pantry is 100% volunteer-run by people who care deeply about feeding our neighbors with compassion and no judgment. From packing boxes to organizing pop-up events, our volunteers are the heart of what we do.
